Make Predictions

School Journal Part 3 Number 2 2006  

Shark Day by Lani Young

WALT: I am learning to make predictions on the text by looking at the title, subtitles and the visual cues.


I predicted that this article was about some type of ceremony and sharks because in the pictures, I could see people sitting down together listening to a person speaking to them. That person looked like a leader or chief. The other picture has a shark feeding on something and some people are looking at it in surprise.

After reading the text, I found out that there was a ceremony where one of the characters became a chief.

The shark was feeding on pig guts that were thrown in the sea after the people killed a pig for the feast to welcome the new chief.

My Favorited person

   my Favorited person   

My Favourite person is my Nana because she takes me and my brothers and my Sister to my Aunty house and we walk slowly sometimes we played there and we eat there when it hot we come inside and watch TV and play game.my Nana is cool because she give me a lollipop and some drink sometimes we like go to the park and play there.

We  like bring food and drink there when we get tired. Sometimes my Nana likes cooking Tongan food and we like helping Nana when my mum is busy doing the food we looked after our Family when we go outside we do our own garden we always do it every day.



We always go with her to Church sometimes when we come back we eat with her. After that we clean up our bed and have some rest we love our Nana.

And I like playing rugby and soccer and I like reading writing and maths. my teacher is Mr nath and Mrs card and my goal is to improve maths and my writing and reading and keep on reading to move up my Level up.
